Owned by the Richardson Family, MacDonald’s Ranch has been a staple in the Scottsdale community since 1956. Opening to the public for western adventure on Easter Sunday 1970, MacDonald’s Ranch has grown to offer much more than the founder, Bob Richardson, ever could have imagined. When we first began we were known as Old MacDonald’s Farm; offering $2 horseback rides and hayrides out to the desert for an evening of bonfires and potluck. Through the years Bob’s youngest son Robby, eventually took over operations and renamed this piece of western heritage MacDonald’s Ranch. Now, Robby owns and operates MacDonald’s Ranch with his wife Silvia and his two daughters, Kelcie and Kylee. Together, and with the help of many friends and family over the years, they built what you see and hear about today. A gem hidden in north Scottsdale that truly drives home what a western experience is all about. Our horseback rides may no longer be $2, but our herd of horses have never been stronger or more tame and our hayrides and cookouts are still adventures you will never forget.
